AIT KMS and QKD expertes at ADIC 2026

AIT participated at the Austrian Defence Innovation Conference (ADIC) 2026 by the Austrian Ministry of Defence (BMLV) with KMS and QKD experts and contributed to the Challenges and Hackathon track. They succeeded in the ambitious plan to run a QKD network, analyze it for common vulnerabilities and pitch an innovative project to bring QKD Networks to operative defense. With this, they delivered on hands on and theoretical quantum innovation.

Beyond the technical topics the team could network with many multidisciplinary companies, get in touch with the unique needs of the Austrian defense community and present the topic of quantum innovation directly to the Secretary of Defense, Mag. Klaudia Tanner.

Special thanks to our QCI-CAT partners Andreas N. and Georg S. for the great hands on support and fruitful discussions. Further zerothird presented the joint Q-Crit project, which fits the goal of QKD for critical infrastructure and hardening of QKD systems.

Pitch to integrate QKD networks to the operational environment of the BMLV, while also providing security analysis.
