Within the scope of the eCAUSIS project the AIT KMS was tested in the laboratory of Creotech. Additionally a lot of hands on technical topics were discussed and evaluated to ensure the success of the eCAUSIS project.
Yet another successful showcase of the AIT QKD-KMS technology at the “1. Fachtagung KIRAS und Kybernet Pass (KuK) Sicherheitsforschung 2024” in Vienna within the QCI-CAT precursor project QKD4GOV. This time the three node setup was composed of one Quantum Optics Jena link and one Think Quantum link, serving keys to the AIT QKD-KMS layer. The demo showcased a modified chat application “Deltachat”. The application layer was provided by the QCI-CAT partner X-Net. New features of the QKD-KMS were showcased in this demo, for example the frontend and SDN component.
Within the scope of the DISCRETION project the KMS was showcased for the Test Readiness Review (TRR) milestone. Representatives of the European Commission, Portugiese Navy and Portugiese National Security Office (GNS). The KMS was demonstrated and further integrated with the SDN.
The QKD-KMS by AIT took part in the “mini EuroQCI” tech demo on 3 days during the ECOC exhibition organized by the PETRUS project. The QKD-KMS by AIT was responsible to implement the KMS layer of the “Austrian” QKD Domain.
Within the scope of the DISCRETION project the KMS was showcased in a tech-demo to NATO and member state representatives. The demo consisted of multiple interacting components with the KMS as one central element interfacing with most of them. The focus of the demo was to highlight two use-cases in a military environment 1. QKD for Secure Image Sharing, 2. QKD-Enabled Encrypted Video Session.
The KMS team published a peer reviewed paper for the ARES 2023 with the title “Key Management Systems for Large-Scale Quantum Key Distribution Networks”.
